So here we are.
Two liga matches have passes and two victories have been checked off in the win section.
We are second place… woo hoo.
So why are there still so many disenting voices in the stands and forums.
Is Valencia not doing exactly what is needed?
I for one am not going to add a voice of dissent.
The current Valencia squad this year has impressed me.
Its true that the flash and magic of the Villa Silva combo is gone.
There is a noticable difference in the danger levels up front.
And yet we still manage to scrape through and win.
The lack of goals isnt a concern as long as they dont add up to a lack of points.
Here is where i differ from many fans of Valencia currently.
This Valencia squad reminds me more of the Valencia squad that won la liga and made it to the end of the Champions league.
It is much better rounded.
Back then we didnt have David Villa to create miracles.
What we had was a solid squad of players that had dedication and drive.
We squeaked in 1-0 wins all the time in those years and managed to take it all in the end.
Im not saying Valencia are going to win the league this season, far from it.
Barca and Madrid all star teams are sure to be the only challengers for that.
But what i am saying is that with the current team we have every reason to beleive that 3rd place is acheivable.
Emery has created a team. Not of stars but of individuals who seem to be clicking quickly.
Remember that a large contigent of these guys have never played together.
Today Valencia fly to Turkey to kick the ball around in the Champions league.
All indications are that this will not be an easy match.
The Turkish squads tend to be far more physical and quick.
But Valencia is technically superior and with Cesar in net i have faith that these points will come home.
My prediction a 1 nil win for Valencia.
AMUNT VALENCIA

PS. It was really a pleasure to meet reader Felix and his girlfriend on their visit to Valencia. Im so happy you enjoyed the match.
I hope to meet more of you all in person whenever you visit Valencia.
